National Geographic Theater

The National Geographic Theater is located in San Simeon and the Cambria area of California. It is also part of the Hearst Castle Theater. The National Geographic Theater is an iWerks screen, which is eight times the size of regular movie screens. It offers breathtaking images no matter the motion picture or show being broadcast. The theater has a 7- channel digital surround sound with real life like images that offer interaction and motion as part of the experience.

Tours of the theater are allowed daily, though one should call for a schedule. School tours need to make reservations in advance. Tickets for tours are $24 for adults and $12 for youths between May 15 and September 15. At all other times of the year they are $20 for adults and $10 for youths. For those who go to a movie only it is $8 for adults, $6 for youths. The National Geographic Theater is playing Building the Dream on a daily basis. Hearst Castle is one of the largest homes ever to be built in the United States and California. The tours are for the castle, and then a movie of the building of it is shown in the National Geographic Theater.
