Happened to hear about this, about the invasive flower poetically called "Stinknet." (It sounds like a hacker malware virus, doesn't it?)

They suggest getting rid of it.

Stinknet is everywhere in Arizona.
Drive around the Phoenix area — or just about anywhere in the state right now — and you’ll see tiny, yellow, globe-like flowers popping up just about anywhere. While, they might look like pretty wildflowers, they are not. They are stinknet.

This has been around for quite a while. Also seen it called Globe Chamomile. It's not going away.

Okay, but that doesn't mean that people shouldn't do their best to tamp it down.

This pic was taken in Reach 11 a few weeks ago.

All that yellow ground cover lining the trail is Stinknet. Almost all the desert floor was covered in Stinknet that day. It's blooming cycle is mostly done now. So they're fading out. But late March thru early May most parking lots had it coming up thru the cracks. Some of the cracks have been sprayed with herbicides multiple times. If you try weeding now you're just spreading the seeds further.

Don't know if this will make you happier.. As the Stinknet is fading the usual weeds are popping up. Often thru the same cracks. Some of them are invasive species too.

This is one of my favorites, Wirelettuce, not necessarily an invasive species. If you look you'll find it starting to bloom. Attracting bees, butterflies and other bugs.
