Hiruko, good morning, and Happy Thanksgiving,

As you know, I am a "Northener."

When I come through Skokie, I see a place called E.J.s, and in Lincolnwood, I see L. Woods. They both remind me of the rustic, log cabin-style, Wisconsin supper clubs from my area. (on a side note, you HAVE to go to The Shanty, if you make it way north to Wadsworth, by the Wisconsin/Illinois border!).

But yes, I will try E.J.s and L. Woods

I do like Lincolnwood. They have some beautiful homes. I remember back in 2017 I saw a Star Wars movie in the Community Room of the Lincolnwood library.

Also, we like to look at the HUGE Sulcata tortoise that lives in the pet store, along Touhy Avenue, not far from L. Woods, actually.

And this winter, we will again drive through the subdivision, west of I-94, to see all the beautifully decorated homes for Christmas time.

I'd say Naperville is pretty fairly rated. It's not for everyone, but for the target audience, it's exactly the right place for them.

Agree Oak Brook is totally overrated. It's a luxury mall with some office buildings. Not a community.

Generally agree with the underrated list. A couple of sleepers in there.

Kmanshouse,

Que vayan con Dios!

SelMarie closing? How do you feel about that?

...

And to the post: HIGHWOOD is in the house; I was just there again last night.

I know many are sad about Cafe Selmarie. But a woman has the right to retire, and that spot already has a new vendor ready to take the space - a restaurant owned by the same group that owns the Lincoln Square Tap Room (and the one in Uptown and Lakeview). So it won't be empty for long.

Also, the Grafton space has a new tenant/bar now. Old things close, new things open. Circle of Life.

North Shore are wealthy suburbs generally due north of the city along the lake.
I've heard that schools are very good in LP. Correct?

La Grange and Glen Ellyn underrated? Nah I don't think so, since both of those places long have been rated pretty well. I don't think Riverside is underrated, even though it's downtown is still quiet and doesn't have a lot of businesses within it.

The other places yeah, you'd have a point that they are underrated like Westmont. I kinda like Grayslake, and think that place sometimes is underrated. Same with Mundelein. Though I think in recent years, I think more may slowly be discovering these 2 places.
