Look on your seller's disclosure and that will tell you what provider services the area for water and gas. There is only one choice on those. Water in rural areas is provided by a water supply company, and you will likely have to put down a sizeable cash deposit in order to transfer the service. I will be surprised if there is actual gas service in a rural area; it may very well be propane. (Look for a large tank a few yards away from the house.) The electric will probably be CoServe in that area, which is a co-op, so you may not have a choice of provider.

You can also ask your builder or realtor.
I always send out the utility info to my clients a couple of weeks before closing.
One thing I suggest is getting them switched over the day of closing.
So many sellers order shutoff for that day.
Gas and Water seems to be continued often, but electric, they will shut that off in a second.
So if you want to be sure you have electric and other utilities when you get keys, you better get those ordered.

Thanks for the tips. I will keep that in mind.
