It certainly doesn't appear to be a "legit" source. The article is by something called Storage Cafe, which is not in market research at all. Rather, they're in the moving and storage business. Smells pretty fishy to this former market research exec. That so called article mentions the year 2022, this is 2024, and the latest data that I see on Memphis immigrants (NOT refugees) to DeSota County, Ms is even older. It doesn't make sense that immigrants would be traveling to Mississippi by way of Memphis, Tn.
The article below, which is allegedly from the U.S. Census Bureau, says that Mississippi lost population. It's too early to know the final totals, but that's certainly what I would expect to see.
