If you're Irish read The Tain, Welsh: The Mabinogian, Germanic/Nordic: The Prose Edda, Finnish: The Kalevala. Find the tales of your ethnic deities. Alien spirits will never help you, only the gods of your forebears.

Unitarian Universalist churches are usually good places for agnostics/atheists and others who want to experience a church with others who have such beliefs.
Howdy. I suggest you start by finding a quiet spot in natural surroundings. Might be a park, or a pond, or a comfortable log by the side of a creek. Somewhere where birds and animals go about their business and city sounds are distant. Sit, look, and ponder.
Repeat as necessary.
Browse the New Age section of your library or bookstore. I enjoy reading stories about indigenous people and their belief systems. Check out what the net can offer by way of pagan/spiritual sites.
Somewhere along the way, you'll likely trip over a book, or article, or website that piques your interest and desire to learn more.
Happy searching.
The average person isn't going to get those instructions but speaking as somebody who spent 6 months in jail, the ONLY thing I could think about is laying in the grass as the dew is melting under a tree and hearing a bird.
It really made me realize how connected we are with nature, it was like a piece of me had died because I never saw the outside or had any fresh air. It actually improved my awareness of what I desperatly need more than anything else, and that is just to be sleeping under a tree.

Sleeping under a tree is one of the very best ways to get connected with Mother Earth. And reconnect.
You can read online at Internet Sacred Text Archive Home see left side scroll down to view A-Z list of subjects. Sometimes even if it is only a name that catches your interest is worth reading a text on it. I tend to read a variety of subjects some more than others. Study and reading about these things is something you never finish doing because there is so much. Some things you might make you main interests in time. For the practical side of things geography might be related to choices of study.
Also sleeping under an open sky is also good if you have a quiet reliable safe area.

Why does it need a name? It is you-and it is your journey, your path. Sometimes it can take years to discover what IS your path. And it doesn't HAVE to be an all or nothing-meaning, it doesn't HAVE to be totally Christian, it doesn't HAVE to be totally Druidism, it doesn't HAVE to be totally Wiccan, or whatever. If elements of each of those paths make sense to you, then use them. There is nothing that is stopping you from using those elements of other paths that make sense to you and disregard the rest to create a new path-JUST for you.
Books are ALWAYS a good place to start.

Yes, agreed. That's why I practice Multiple religions. Because when one confines to just a single religion, then one usually becomes dogmatic. In other words, Fundamentalist.
Because at one point during the 1970s I was brainwashed by a Fundamentalist group. And they brainwashed me by using the element of Fear. Fear is said to be man's strongest emotion, and that's what most religions use to manipulate and brainwash. Religion is supposed to be about love but regrettably it seems to be mostly about fear.
The best way to fight against fear is by studying as many different religions as you can. After a while, one can even develop one's own beliefs.
