Hotel

- Frank Kent Site

Speaking of more hotels, there's a plan for one on the former Frank Kent Cadillac dealership. It is planned to be a 120-140 room "big chain" hotel, giving more options for visitors. It would also add to the severely lacking in development Lancaster Ave.
Currently in the works.

Infrastructure

- Panther Island Bridges

All three bridges for the Panther Island (formerly known as Trinity Uptown/Trinity River Vision) will begin (or have already begun) construction this year. Detours and digging of the Bypass Channel have already begun.

Modern Roundabouts are also coming.

Hey, I actually like that idea. Let's just hope some extra money is funneled in for visual enhancements.

Am I the only one who thinks that water features would look good as centerpieces for the roundabouts? :/

Ned Khan, the artist for those centerpieces, usually works with water as well as wind and other elements. But I think this is going to be a wind piece.

Oh, and as for that Frank Kent hotel spot I JUST posted... it ain't happening.

Deal for hotel at south end of downtown Fort Worth has fallen through | Shlachter, Baker &...

That was really a bad spot for a hotel.

I agree, who the hell wants to stay near E. Lancaster lol. Definitely better areas to invest.

Lancaster is fine... WEST of Main Street.

But the point of it was to rebuild the south side of downtown.
There needs to be a little more development for that area before we put something in that corner.

Public/Institutional

- Daniel-Meyer Coliseum renovation

Pretty sure most of you know this by now, but TCU is renovating their 53 year old basketball facility, which is SORELY needed. Now that we're in a "big boy conference" once again, it's time to finally upgrade. What's happening here:

- Lowered court with a few more rows of seating
- Completely remodeled exterior to match the campus and Amon Carter Stadium
- A Hall of Fame
- New restrooms, locker rooms, clubs, concessions (with a food court, even), and putting in athletic offices
- Costs $65 million

The basketball teams will have to play in a new arena for next season, my guess would be the Convention Center. Will be complete in 2015.
