....the store is very small, so there's only enough space to carry a few key items. Oils, incense, pretty good variety of stones, some clothing and jewelry and a few books (wide range of spells) and a couple of tarot decks. It is also VERY wicca/witchcraft oriented which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but because that's where the focus is, that's mostly what kind of merchandise they carry. I really liked the woman who runs it and there was another crone browsing with whom I had a brief conversation about whether or not we were afraid of dying. (I'm not, she is.) Owner recommended a book to her she didn't carry. It was a fun visit.

MQ, not sure sure it's worth the trip since you have Earth Spirit practically in your back yard. But if you had an afternoon to spare, there are a couple of fun looking places to eat and I think you might enjoy the other stores, too. I wouldn't make a special trip though .
Thanks for the info. Earth Spirit is indeed a quick trip. I'm not really familiar with Bordentown.

We only have one shop here. We used to have two; Matrix and Moonstruck, there was apparently a third before I got in the craft and Lady G, the owner of Matrix bought all their stuff. Cue in about four years ago, Lady G died and now we only have one. If I had the money, I would open a small shop with some friends on mine.

I think it would be a fun business to run, but it would have to be run for love. I can't imagine that they make much profit.

Unless, I suppose, you were a really outstanding herbalist. And with that you might get into licensing issues about dispensing "medicine"

I'm pretty sure Earth Spirit, the shop near me, is very profitable. They've been in business at least sixteen years, and even moved from their original location to the downtown main drag where they are now situated, next to a wine store and across from several popular restaurants.

They have psychics present doing readings in the back room, they offer classes in Reiki and other practices, and they sell incense, candles, books, crystals, and many other sought-after products. I believe they do very well.

If I'm not mistaken, one of the owners is also one of the readers/mediums.

EARTH SPIRIT

Earthbound looks lovely, and I know some of those Maryland towns where there are store locations, even though they're about 160 miles away. I used to have a friend who lived in Silver Spring and I came down that way frequently. She moved to Arlington years ago.

But that Black Market Minerals???? I am making longing noises over that one. WOW. That website is like porn to me, LMAO.

At long last,I finally managed to find and buy a Palmistry Sculpture, for which I've been searching for a long time. By that,I mean a sculpture of a human hand inscribed with the proper palm-reading diagrams. Back in the day and maybe in some places nowadays, that particular picture would be seen on a sign fronting a clairvoyant's office. But what I wanted was a sculpture. The one I was looking for was supposed to be made of resin but the one I just bought is porcelain. Not what I expected but just as good. I'm pleased.

And I ran across it when I least expected. Because that day I had to go to the Apple computer store about technical problems, and with the Covid restrictions, I had to make a reservation first. They reserved me for an hour later, so I had time to kill in the meantime, so I went browsing at the other shops.

Taking a leisurely stroll, browsing at the shop windows, I chanced upon an shop which specializes in Art objects. There were many nice sculptures. Then I did a double-take!! It was a sculpture of a human hand standing erect. At that point, I could not see the Palmistry diagram on its palm, because the back of the hand was facing the window through which I was looking. Thinking to myself that the sculpture could be just a sculp of a plain, ordinary hand--or it could be a palmistry hand. So I had to check. Going into the shop, I went right up to the sculp and was overjoyed to see that it was a Palmistry hand with the diagram of the proper names designating each major area of the palm. Needless to say, I purchased it without the slightest hesitation! Have any of others of you made a nice purchase recently? Looking at the other posts here, I see that the most purchased items are crystals. Anyway, my delightful purchase is the Palmistry sculp, for which I've been searching for a long time. What a delightful day it was!

That's wonderful. Porcelain is much nicer than resin. Please post a picture.

You've been gone a long time. Don't be a stranger.
